Mozilla to enter Indian mobile market with Rs. 1,500 Firefox smartphones!

Mozilla, the well-known developer of the famous web browser 'Mozilla Firefox' is ready to launch its new range of smartphones in India. Mozilla has tied up with Intex and Spice to bring smartphones in India at a throw away price of just $25 (Approx 1,500 INR).

Mozilla had earlier showcased their smartphone prototype at the Mobile World Congress (#MWC) in Barcelona in February 2014. Mozilla will launch these smartphones under their own Operating System (OS) namely the Firefox Operating System.

“Mozilla is dedicated to putting the power of the web in people’s hands, and Firefox OS frees consumers, developers, mobile providers and manufacturers from the limitations and restrictions of proprietary platforms,” Li Gong (Mozilla Chief Operating Officer) said in a statement.

A preview with complete details of the operating system is available on the official website of Mozilla.
